also had the ability to grow with me as

Cost me $500 a month in LOST BUSINESS.
Why? Because totally WITHOUT WARNING,
they changed the IP address of my
server. I couldn't figure out the
problem at first (who could?).
Everything just went DEAD. My submitted
support tickets (1 per hour) went
UNANSWERED for 10 DAYS. aaaagggghhh.
So did my
phone calls. I got through a couple of
times, and nobody there even KNEW that
they had switched my IP. Finally I got
through to KIA, one of their head
webmasters, who apologized, and said
"uh... oh... we changed the IP address
on those virtual servers a week ago. I
guess we should have notified
you."INFINOLOGY NOTIFIED NONE of the
affected users. NONE!And after the
change, it totally SCREWED UP my FreeBSD
installation. TOTALLY.it was not
possible to just change the IPs in all
my files. NOT POSSIBLE! I had to
completely restore EVERYTHING, and
REBUILD MY ENTIRE SETUP.During the TEN
DAYS I was down, I lost $500 per MONTH
in revenue from my customers who RIGHTLY
blew their stack over this mess.It was
too much. I switched to a professional
organization.Oh, and even though I was
NOT under a contract, they kept billing
me and sending me e-mails.But they
didn't bother to respond to my
complaint. They're TERRIBLE.By the way,
I host over 1100 sites running about
75GB of total bandwidth per
month.Infinology is a HUGE problem.

about web hosting company: I purchase a
web hosting plan and paid a set up fee
(which supposedly, included the cost of
the domain name registration), and also
paid upfront for 12 months of hosting to
get the best possible price ($6.95 per
month versus 12.95 when paid by the
month). The plan was called BasicHosting
SU1000 Advanced Users and the total
amount charged to my credit card was
$173.40. This cost included a setup fee
($50), 12 months of prepaid service
($83.40), and the cost of the domain
name registration for 2 years ($40).
First, the
setup fee of $50 was advertised to cover
the cost of the domain name registration
as well. However in reality I was
charged this fee and only when I
inquired about the unexpected amount of
the bill was I told that I would have to
apply for a rebate to recover the cost
of the domain name registration. I
still can not locate any indication that
this was an After rebate cost, nor can
I locate the rebate form on the website.
Secondly,
after only 30 days of hosting, my web
site and contract were suddenly and
unexpectedly terminated. I was unable
to reach anyone at Infinology for three
days in a row following this distressing
event to discuss it much less resolve
the issue! Visitors to my site received
a message that the account had been
suspended and I could not access my
control panel or files. I sent at least
3 urgent e-mails and called over 20
times over this period and was not even
allowed to leave a message with my
concerns much less speak to a person.
Instead, I encountered recorded messages
leading me to mailboxes which were
full! I never to this date have
received any replies to my e-mails. I
finally was able to reach a
representative who could deal with my
situation after at least 10 more calls
and a total of over 2 hours of waiting
on hold.
Finally,
despite my best efforts, Infinology
refused to reinstate my web hosting
contract and refused to refund any of my
money including the amount paid upfront
for the additional 11 months of
purchased service which I will never
recieve. They cited violations of the
acceptable use policy (AUP) as their
reasons for doing this. In fact in
retrospect I did realize that upon
re-reading the fine print of the AUP
that I was in fact not in compliance
with it (I was storing copyrighted files
for my own personal use but without any
way for outsiders to locate them). I
found the acceptable use policy
extremely confusing and lengthy and when
red to the letter I realized that there
were practically no uses of the web site
that would really be considered
acceptable to them!! Furthermore the
policy states that you need to
continually re-read this policy as they
can change it at any time even after you
have a contract with them. Not only
that, but it stated that they could
terminate you basically at their sole
discretion even if you were not
violation any stated policy.
If you are
considering Infinology I would strongly
encourage you to spend a few hours
pouring over the acceptable use policy
very carefully and make sure you can
comply with it. I highly doubt that
anyone who reads this policy would
consider going with this company!! If
in the end you do think that it is worth
the risk to go with Infinology, I
strongly suggest that you do not pay in
advance for service, as they can
terminate your contract on a whim (even
for reasons not stated in the acceptable
use policy, which by the way, is stated
in the policy!) and keep all of your
money! Believe me they did it to me!
In
conclusion I feel that Infinology is on
the fringe of running a scam. The
saving grace for them is their AUP
which they assume prospective buyers
will not read to the letter, and which
covers them legally for what they pull.
It is legal, yes, but ethical no way.
They draw in customers with one of the
lowest prices for server space, which is
only available by paying in advance for
a full year, and then basically
confiscate your money for petty
infractions of their impossible
acceptable use policy. Dont be
swindled by this company!!

about 24/7 support and I had seen
testimonials about never getting busy...
Now that I have purchased web hosting I
have not been able to find a Support
Service phone number anywhere on their
site. I had phone number for Sales but
when I call that and eventually get to
support I get recording of "Due to high
volume leave message..." with no return
call.
2) I have
sent two emails to support where a
"ticket" was supposed to have been made.
No solutions to problem were returned
only that they have received my email
and assigned a ticket.
If that is
supposed to help me then they something
is wrong.
I am very
disappointed in Infinology. I choose
them due to your rating. I was very
suspicious that you only rated them high
because you get kickback. Your webpage
states you do not receive
commissions.???
As it
appears now I will probably cancel my
hosting with Infinology.

Infinology based on your
recommendations. That was yesterday
afternoon. During the process their
site crashed my browser. I got far
enough through the process to give them
my credit card info and my billing
info. This resulted in an email from
them saying they were processing my
order. Since then I have sent numerous
emails none of which have had a
response. I have called several times
and only get a message saying they are
busy and to leave a message for
support. This links to another message
saying their voice mail box is full and
to please call back.
At this
point I do not know whether I have a
domain registered and hosting or not.
They are impossible to contact. This is
a long way from your rave review of
their sevices. Have you tried to call
them lately? I have been calling every
hour since 700AM PST...when the say they
are open for business.
Take another
look at Infinology. So far they stink.

to work with. Always get timely and
personal responses to any emailed
questions. Servers are Linux/Unix, fast
and reliable.
My $20/year
account includes 1GB space, 25GB monthly
transfer, Unlimited email accounts and
autoresponders, CGI, Perl, PHP, MySQL,
etc. and 99% uptime.
Although
they have a smaller account (only 100MB
space and 5GB bandwidth) for only
$10/year...their BEST deal is an
"unadvertised" developers special. They
offer this to ALL developers. They will
let the developer host 5 personal sites
for FREE...plus give the developer FREE
development space for the sites that
they develop for others...plus give the
first 30 days of hosting for free to the
owners of the sites once the developer
turns it over to the owner...and the
only thing that they ask in return is
that the developer recommend their
hosting services to the site owners.
You should
check them out...I've hosted with a
number of hosting companies...but never
got as good of a deal as I get with
Internet-Maxx Hosting.

them to host my site, but will not
renew. My existing domain was due for
their free renewal, so I had to transfer
the domain registration to them. I
first tried online with no success. I
then called and waited and waited to
talk to someone, who said they would
take care of the transfer and send
e-mail, but a week later none was
received. I called back and waited and
waited for someone to answer, then asked
again to get the domain transfered, and
this time I did get the e-mail, and
followed the instructions. The
registrar was transfered, but they
messed up the e-mail address and phone
number and mailing address. I am
writing as I wait and wait on hold to
try to get someone to fix this problem.
This level of incompetence is
unacceptable, as I can not even update
the domain registration, but a stranger,
whose e-mail address was placed on the
domain, now can do whatever they want on
the domain registration. Totally
unprofessional!
